OUR SERVICES

FOR BOAT OWNERS

Insurance Renewal

Boat Condition Survey

A survey concentrating on the vessel's structure, the integrity of her through-hull openings, hatches, steering, engine mounting and just the boat systems of interest to insurance companies i.e. anything whose failure might trigger a claim.  Includes an open market valuation.

Part 1 Registration

Legal Ownership

Part 1 registration with the UK Register of Shipping is the only legally-sound way to prove British boat ownership.  It is often required for insurance, legal and finance purposes.  The certificate is a great addition to the boat's documentation and can be very useful for international sales or voyaging.

Expert Advice

Independent Opinion

Independent and expert advice from an experienced surveyor and marine industry professional.  Wide-ranging knowledge of all boat related matters including design, engines, refrigeration, steering, electrics, rigging, trim, operation and usage.  Specification, purchase, repair and refit.

Damage and Repair

Professional Assessment

Independent assessment of damage and repair recommendations following an incident.  Planning costing and direct liaison with the boat repairer can all be included in this service tailored to your requirements.  Our on-the-spot findings and report could be vital for an insurance claim or litigation.

Sea Trials

Boat Performance

Booked separately or as part of a survey, a sea trial is the best way to test a boat and her systems under working load.  General hull integrity can be checked, steering and engine performance can be verified, sails can be hoisted and sheeted-in and all water-cooled machinery can be tested.

Boat Valuation

Money and Finance

A professional independent opinion of your boat's open market value, assessed by an experienced surveyor.  Be confident that you're not paying too much or selling for too little.  If you are an owner, a revaluation might also be needed for insurance, finance, legal or contractual purposes.

Boat Familiarization

New Owner Services

Aboard your newly purchased boat, closely examine all aspects of the survey report including vessel construction, machinery, systems and equipment.  A short trip to sea for practical illustration is usually undertaken, on-board explanation enhances understanding.
